DISCUSSION: Bilberry-Grapeskin is a standardized Swedish bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus, 25% antocyanosides) and grapeskin polyphenol supplement. These flavonoid antioxidants support visual function. Anthocyanisides have a high affinity for the retinal-pigmented epithelium, where it retards the breakdown of retinal purple (rhodopsin). They also inhibit the excessive activity of phosphoglucomutase and glucose-6-phosphatase in the retina, and support microcirculation and the structure of retinal capillaries. Bilberry anthocyanosides also support veinous structure.*
